LYNCHBURG, Va. (February 10, 2024) — The Morgan State men's track and field team competed this weekend at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

Friday, Feb. 9
Junior Derick Robinson captured the long jump invite with a 23'10.50" leap.
Senior Adrian Holley led the men in the 60-meter dash with a 12th place time of 7.01, followed by Derick Robinson (7.12) and sophomore Omari McKenzie (7.30).
Junior Devion Bryant clocked in a time of 1:57.35 to take fifth place in the 800-meters.Â
In the 400-meter dash invite, sophomore Dante Jackson led the Bears with a 10th place finish with a time of 49.20, followed by junior Demier Shipley (49.77) and sophomore Antonio Sims (50.35).
Saturday, Feb. 10
Sophomore Antonio Sims came in 19th place in the 200-meter dash open with a 22.27. Senior Adrian Holley and Junior Demier Shipley placed 25th (22.39) and 30th (22.55), respectively.
In the 4x4000-meter relay, Davian Gray, Tarique Gooden, Devon Bryant and Perry Bennett landed in the top-10 by finishing with a seventh-place time of 10.54.82.
The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Demier Shipley, Dante Jackson, Antonio Sims and Adrian Holley crossed the tape with a season-best time of 3.19.57.
In the field events, sophomore Zackery Dillon led the way by placing sixth in the shot put with a mark of 16.55m.
Junior Malik Brown finished 10th place in the pole vault with a clearance of 13'03.25".
Freshman Isaac Rankin competed in the high jump and placed 20th with a mark of 1.86m. He also placed 27th in the triple jump with a 12.80m leap.
