Lady Bears Conclude Regular Season In Gettysburg

BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 19, 2024)--
Morgan State closed out the 2024 cross country regular season on Saturday at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College. The Lady Bears would finish 10th as a team with 287 points and placed two runners in the top-50.
 
Abigail Fisher led the way running the 6k course in a time of 23:20.2 to place 40th overall. It was the fifth time in as many meets this season that Fisher finished as Morgan's top runner. Aaliyah Headley crossed the line in a time of 23:45.3 to finish 49th.
 
Fellow Lady Bears Jessica Lamborn placed 66th in a time of 24:21.8 and Crystal Coke (81st) crossed the line in a time of 24:52.1. Hemetii Apet (102/25:23.3) and Kayla More (176/28:17.9) also competed in Saturday's finale.
 
GRC-Tracksmith won the team title with 19 points. Kelsey Swenson of GRC-Tracksmith was the meet's top runner, as she ran a time of 20:41.3 to win the individual title.
 
Morgan State will now direct its attention to the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2 in Smyrna, Del.
