BALTIMORE, Md. (October 13, 2024) --Â Morgan State senior women's cross country runner Abigail Fisher led the Lady Bears at the NJIT Highlander Challenge in newark, New Jersey.
Fisher placed 18th with a personal best time of 19:34.5 on the 5k course. Army West Point's Lindsay Cook placed first overall by crossing the finish line in 18:17.8.Â
Army West Point triumphed in a competitive field of 31 teams, clinching first place with an impressive team score of 35 points, allowing them to edge out Delaware, which finished a close second with a score of 36 points. Molloy rounded out the top three, showcasing their determination and capability with a solid score of 110 points.Â

Meanwhile, Morgan was commendable as they finished in sixth place with a total score of 184 points.Â
Morgan senior Jessica Lamborn took 29th place finish, clocking in at a personal best time of 20:07.4, while junior teammate Aaliyah Headley secured 37th place with a time of 20:19.4..
Personal best times were turned in by sophomore Crystal Coke who crossed the finish line with a time of 20:41.0, freshman Hemetii Apet posted a 21:20.2, and freshman Kayla More clocked in with a 22:41.1.
Morgan returns to action on Saturday, October 19Â at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.Â
