BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 26, 2023)--The Morgan State women's cross country team returned to action in dominate fashion on Sunday, as they competed in the rescheduled UMES Soaring Hawk Cross Country Classic held in Princess Anne, Md.
Morgan State claimed the first four spots and six of the top seven to earn a first-place finish over the host Hawks. Morgan State won the two-team event with 16 points, while UMES had a runner-up finish with 43 points.
The Lady Bears were led by
Abigail Fisher, who won the individual title with a time of 20:41.8.
Jalissa Emmens placed second, finishing the 5K course in a time of 21:14.1,
Jessica Lamborn was third, crossing the line with a time of 21:43.9 and
Asydiah Pray-Brown came in fourth in a time of 22:15.2.
Aleisha Robinson (24:54.1) and
Zion Pittman (25:16.3) came in sixth and seventh, respectively, to round out the scoring for Morgan State.
Next up for the Lady Bears will be a trip to Newark, N.J. for the Highlander Invitational hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Branch Brook Park.
