Harris, Jackson Sweep MEAC Women’s Track & Field Weekly Honors

NORFOLK, Va. (March 22, 2023)--Morgan State freshman Mackenzie Harris was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while junior Tia Jackson was named MEAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
 
Harris came in second in the women's heptathlon at the Bill Webb/Bob Davidson Invitational Meet, tallying 4,153 points, which are the 10th most in the nation so far this outdoor season. A native of Decatur, Ga., Harris recorded top-five finishes in six of the seven events, including runner-up in the 200 meters and 100-meter hurdles.
 
Jackson, a native of Bristol, United Kingdom, finished second in the long jump at the Webb Davidson Meet with a leap of 5.91 meters. Her mark is currently the 35th-best mark in the nation.
