BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 12, 2023)—The Morgan State women's indoor track and field team wrapped up the regular season over the weekend in Lynchburg, Va., as the Lady Bears competed in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty University.
Morgan State concluded the meet with four top-five finishes and had three personal bests that were set.
Tia Jackson finished third in the high jump, while setting a personal best with a mark of 5 feet 4.25 inches, which currently ranks second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Jackson also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet 3.50 inches.
Ishana Asinor had set a personal best in the pole vault at 10 feet 11.75 inches to place 12
th and improve on her school record.
On the track Mackenzie Harris recorded a personal best in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.73 seconds to finish fifth.
Other top five performances came from
Inara Shell, who placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet 3.25 inches. Shell also placed seventh in the long jump, posting a jump of 18 feet 9.25 inches.
Next up for the Lady Bears will be the 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships held Sunday, Feb. 19-Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
