Morgan State Track & Field Competes in Final Meet Before Conference

LYNCHBURG, Va. (Feb. 11, 2023) - The Morgan State men's track and field teams wrapped their two-day competition at the 9^th annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty University.  It marked the Bears' final indoor meet before heading to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.

How it Happened

    ● Senior Ali Bowens placed 12^th in the 60m dash with a time of 7.07 and posted a time of 22.38 in the 200m dash.

    ● Tarique Gooden placed 25^th in the 400m with a time of 50.44.

    ● Devion Bryant recorded a time of 1:06.71 to place 9^th in the 500m run.

    ● Sophomore Davian Gray ran a personal best 1.55.76 in the 800m run.

    ● In the 60m hurdles semis/finals prelims, Jadon Ra-Akbar took 10^th place with a time of 8.16.
Duane Kizer added a time of 8.22 to place 13^th. Ra-Akbar also placed 11^th in the long jump with a leap of 6.83m (22-05.00).

    ● The 4x400 meter relay team of Duane Kizer, Tarique Gooden, Emmanuel Ibeh, Davian Gray posted a time of 3:25.12 to take 8^th place.

    ● Joshua Belinga placed 16^th  in the triple jump with a leap of 13.44m (44-01.25).
