BALITMORE, Md. (Nov. 13, 2023) — Morgan State football senior Jordan Toles was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Specialist of the Week for his play against South Carolina State on Saturday. This is the third Weekly award the Baltimore, Md. native has captured this season.
Toles fielded the ball on special teams and broke several tackles to finish off an improbable 73-yard score with 4:44 left in the game to seal the Bears' win over South Carolina State.
On the season, Toles currently ranks No. 2 in the MEAC with three interceptions (T-No. 3 in the FCS) and has recorded 52 (28 solo) with five pass breakups (No. 10 in MEAC).
Toles was recently named as an Aeneas Williams Award semifinalist, announced by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame (OSHOF). He joined a list of 10 players who are among the nation's best defensive backs in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Division I college football. The award finalists will be released on Tuesday, December 5.
Toles and the rest of the Bears return to action on Saturday, November 18 when they travel to Washington, D.C. to face Howard in what could potentially decide the MEAC regular season championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
