Hunter Set for 2026 HBCU Showcase & International Player Pathway Pro Day

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 24, 2026) – From East Cold Spring Lane to a national spotlight, Erick Hunter—better known as "E40"—is ready for his next chapter, one that could lead straight to the National Football League.

Hunter will have the opportunity to showcase his talents on a premier stage, as the National Football League, in partnership with the Black College Football Hall of Fame and NFL International, announced the participants for the 2026 HBCU Showcase and International Player Pathway (IPP) Pro Day.

The three-day event, presented by Microsoft Copilot, will take place March 28–30 in Ashburn, Virginia, and provides draft-eligible prospects a critical opportunity to perform in front of NFL scouts and executives.

The invite-only HBCU Showcase features Hunter as one of 11 representatives from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) selected to participate.

On-field workouts are scheduled for Monday, March 30, at the Commanders Park practice facility. Offensive prospects will begin at 8 a.m., followed by defensive and specialist workouts at 10:45 a.m.

All 32 NFL teams are expected to be represented, providing significant exposure for top HBCU prospects and IPP participants. Six IPP athletes are eligible for selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, while five others may sign with teams beginning March 31.

A native of Capitol Heights, Maryland, Hunter delivered a dominant senior campaign. The preseason MEAC Defensive Player of the Year started all 12 games and led the conference with 102 total tackles, including 53 solo stops. He added 14 tackles for loss, four sacks, five quarterback hurries, four forced fumbles, and an interception.

One of the defining moments of his season came against Norfolk State, when he returned a blocked kick 90 yards for a touchdown.

Hunter's postseason résumé is extensive. He earned Stats Perform FCS Second-Team All-American honors, Phil Steele FCS Third-Team All-American recognition, and was named an FCS Football Central All-American. He also garnered All-MEAC First Team honors, was selected as a Buck Buchanan Award finalist, earned BOXTOROW HBCU All-American recognition, and accepted an invitation to compete in The American Bowl—college football's inaugural all-star game.

He also cemented his legacy at Morgan State University, finishing second on the program's all-time tackles list with 298 career stops.

For Hunter and his fellow participants, the Pro Day represents the culmination of years of dedication—and a pivotal step toward achieving their professional football aspirations.
