Princess Anne, Md. (Sept. 24, 2022) –Morgan State's women's cross country team competed at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run this past Saturday and placed third with a total of 75 points and a combined time of 1:45.42.
For the consecutive week, senior
Rachel Field set both a personal best time in a 5k race and was the Lady Bear's top finisher. Field would finish in a time of 19:19.30 to place seventh overall.
Asydiah Pray-Brown (20:14.20) placed 14
th in the race. Making improvement since their last race,
Jalissa Emmens placed 15
th with a time of 20:15.60,
Jessica Lamborn (22:42.00) and
Yasmine George (23:11.30) coming on 32
nd and 33
rd, respectively.
Seton Hall claimed the team title with 19 points after placing eight runners in the top-10, including meet champion Nancy Habib, who came in first in a time of 18:29.40. Hampton came in second with 55 points and Delaware State (118) edged out Coppin State (119) by one point to earn fourth. Maryland Eastern Shore rounded out the scoring with 133 points to finish sixth.
Morgan will continue its season in two weeks on Friday, October 7 at the Delaware State Farm Course in Dover, Del., hosted by Delaware State University at 3 p.m.
