DOVER, Del. (Sept. 17, 2022) -- Morgan State's men's cross-country team returned to competition on Saturday. With a week off, they placed second in the Delaware State Sting Invitational, hosted by Delaware State at the DSU Farm Course.
With a team time of 1:27:01 and an average time of 17:24, the concluded time was a total of 53 points. Delaware State Hornets finished with 24 points. University of Maryland- Eastern Shore placed third with 74 points, while Bowie State (139) and Coppin State (140), finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Delaware State's Devin Smith placed first, with a time of 16:26.2. Following Smith were Hornets' teammates Mosa Aboeid with a time of 16:40.0 and Jose Rivera- Yetter finished in third place with a time of 16:53.6.
The Bears'
Levi Bryant (17:05.8) placed sixth and
Nasir Wallace (17:15.2) placed ninth.
Devion Bryant (17:25.4) placed 11 th ,
Justin Alston (17:35.4), and
Keon Witherspoon (17:40.0) came in 13th and 14th, respectively. Tariq Gooden placed 28 th with a time of 19:29.3.
Morgan will continue its season on Sept. 24 at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run in Princess Anne, hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore at 10 a.m.
