Rantin, 4x100m Relay Team Post Top Marks at Towson Invitational

TOWSON, Md. (April 2, 2022) – The Morgan State men's track & field team notched solid performances across the board at the Towson Invitational held at Minnegan Field at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

The Bears finished the weekend with a pair of event titles and seven top 5 finishes.

Keon Rantin was sensational in the men's 400m, going 48.53 for a season-best time and the victory, finishing .61 seconds ahead of his teammate Demier Shipley (49.14). Rantin also turned in a third place performance in the 100m along with Adrian Holley with a time of 10.40.

Sophomore John Purvis finished third place in the hammer throw with a personal best toss of 49.83m (163-6).

Kobe-Jordan Rhooms took second in the high jump a mark of 2:00m (6-6.75). He also ran a personal-best 50.06 in the 400m to finish in eighth place.

Malik Brown turned in a ninth place performance in the pole vault clearing a personal best 3:81m (12-6.00).

The Bears' 4x100-meter relay team of Lamar Davis, Keon Rantin, Ali Bowens and Adrian Holley placed captured the title by crossing the tape with a time of 41.77.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Brandon Jones, Duane Kizer, Nasir Wallace and Joshua Belinga ran a 3:29.99, taking home an eighth place finish.
