COLLEGE PARK, Md. (March 20, 2022)-The Morgan State women's track and field team returned to action on Saturday, as it began the outdoor season competing in the Maryland Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland.
The Lady Bears would place six in the top-five, with four of those finishes coming in the field events.
Ishana Asinor and
Terine Lambert led the way for the Lady Bears, each earning second-place finishes in their respective events. Asinor recorded a mark of 10-feet-04.00 inches (3.15m) in the pole vault, while Lambert recorded a throw of 135-feet-08 inches (41.36m) to take second in the discus.
Diamond Moore placed third in the high jump with a height of 5-feet-01.00 inches (1.55m) to place third.
Johnelle Johnson had a toss of 42-feet-11.00 inches (13.08m) to come in fourth in the shot put.
On the track,
Destiny Thompson came in fifth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 25.35 seconds and
Rachel Field also placed fifth in the 3000 meter run, crossing the line in a time of 11:30.43.
Next up for Morgan State will be a trip to Columbia, S.C. for the USC Weems Baskin Invitational (March 25-26).
