BALTIMORE, MD (Oct. 31, 2022)--Morgan State University women's cross country competed at the 2022 MEAC Cross Country Championship at The Delaware State Outreach & Research Center in Smyrna, Delaware. This year's Championship was hosted by Delaware State University.
Morgan State would place fourth overall with a team time of 1:43.50. Rachel Field ran a time of 19:40.8 to finish the 5k race in 11th place and earn All-MEAC Team honors.
Following Field for the Lady Bears was Asydiah Pray-Brown (20:08.2) and Jalissa Emmens (20:18.9), who placed 16
th and 17th, respectively, just missing out on finishing in the top 15. Jessica Lamborn (21:29.2/29th), Yasmine George (22:12.9/38th) and Aleisha Robinson (24:19.6/46th), finished the scoring for Morgan State.
This year's MEAC title went to the Howard University Bison, who finished with 32 points and placed five runners in the top 10. It was Howard's first title since the 2005 MEAC Championship.
Coming in second was Norfolk State (62 points), who entered the championship as the two-time defending champions. Delaware State finished third with 69 points. The Lady Bears scored 108 points to place fourth and North Carolina Central (117 points) placed fifth. Maryland Eastern Shore (165), Coppin State (175) and South Carolina State (187) rounded out the team standings.
