MEAC Preseason Honors
NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 30, 2022)-The Morgan State bowling team was picked to finish fifth in Friday's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason Bowling Poll, presented by TowneBank. North Carolina A&T's Lauren Tomaszewski was named MEAC Preseason Bowler of the Year. All awards were voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

Two-time defending champion North Carolina A&T State was picked to win the league's regular-season crown after receiving 159 points and 15 first-place votes. Maryland Eastern Shore (two votes) received 135 points to rank second, while Delaware State (one vote) earned 127 points for third. Monmouth had 105 points for fourth-place, followed by Morgan State (87 points) at fifth.

The University of Alabama-Birmingham received 79 points for sixth, while Coppin State (51 points), Norfolk State (35 points) were picked seventh and eighth, respectively. Howard was picked ninth with a total of 32 points.

The Lady Bears open the 2022-23 season on the road next weekend in the MOTIV Penguin Classic (Oct. 14-16), hosted by Youngstown State. The annual MSU James Brown Invitational will take place Feb. 10-12, 2022 at the AMF Towson Lanes in Towson, Md. The MEAC Championship will be held on March 24-26 in Chesapeake, Va.
