Morgan State Cross Country Teams Return To Action This Friday In Delaware

BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 5, 2022) – This Friday, Oct. 7, the Morgan State men's and women's cross country teams will return to the race course after nearly a two-week break, when they travel to Dover, Del. to compete in the Delaware State Farm Invitational.
 
In their last outing, the Morgan State women's team placed third at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run (9/24) in Princess Anne, Md. The event was hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
For the second consecutive week, Rachel Field set both a personal best time in a 5k race and was the Lady Bears' top finisher. Field would finish in a time of 19:19.3 to place seventh overall.
 
Her time would be the fourth-fastest at this distance this season in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and earned her MEAC Runner of the Week honors for a second consecutive week.  
 
The men's team placed second, behind Davian Gray's third-place finish in a time of 27:40.3. It was the second time this season that Gray was Morgan State's top finisher.

Morgan State will close out its season on Saturday, October 15, at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa. at 10 a.m.
 
This year's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship will take place on Saturday, October 29 in Dover, Del., hosted by Delaware State. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
