GETTYSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 16, 2022)--The Morgan State women's cross country team finished the pre-championship portion of its season this past weekend in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College. The Lady Bears would finish the 6k race in 12th place with 272 points.
 
The Lady Bears concluded the race with a collective time of 25:28. Leading the team as top finisher was grad student Rachel Field who placed 20th with a time of 23:47.5.
 
Asydiah Pray- Brown (24:35.2) placed 43rd in the race. Jalissa Emmens placed 50th with a time of 24:56.0, Jessica Lamborn (26:27.5) and Yasmine George (27:34.1) coming on 90th and 120th respectively. Aleisha Robinson (157th) ran a time of 31:13.9.
 
Scranton captured the team title with 68 points. Saint Francis (73 points) placed second and host Gettysburg (98 points) came in third. Jessica Hoffmann of Scranton won the individual title, crossing the line in a time of 22:00.0.
 
Morgan will take a week- long break before competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship which will take place Saturday, October 29th at 10am. The competition will be hosted by Delaware State University and held at the Delaware State Outreach and Research Center Course in Smyrna, Del.
