BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 13, 2022)--The Morgan State cross country teams will run in their last meet of the regular season this Saturday, October 14 when they compete at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational in Gettysburg, Pa., hosted by Gettysburg College. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.

This weekend's meet will serve as a final tune-up before next week's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship in Smyrna, Del.

Last Friday, October 7, the Lady Bears captured the team title at the Delaware State Farm Run Invitational. Morgan State placed four runners in the top five to finish with a total of 28 points. Host Delaware State (33) finished second with Coppin State (64) placing third.

Crossing the line with a time of 20:24.8, and leading her team again, was
Rachel Field, who finished in second place behind Delaware State's Ashley Lagat who finished first with a time of 20:11.6.
Asydiah Pray-Brown placed third, completing the 5k race in a time of 20:57.6.
Jalissa Emmens (21:02.3) and
Jessica Lamborn (22:57.3) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while
Yasmine George (23:57.7) placed 11
th.

Morgan's men would finish the 8k race in second place with a total of 39 points. Host Delaware State won the event with 20 points and Coppin State placed third with 73 points.

The Bears were led by
Davian Gray, who crossed the finish line in a time of 28:34.7 to place fourth.
Jackson Waller (6
th) completed the course in 29:05.8, while
Levi Bryant (30:20.4) and
Devion Bryant (30:37.0) finished ninth and 10
th, respectively.
Justin Alston (31:35.3) finished 11
th and
Tarique Gooden came in 15
th in a time of 35:01.6.

The 2022 MEAC Cross Country Championship will be hosted by Delaware State University and will take place on Saturday, October 29 at the Delaware State Outreach and Research Center Course in Smyrna, Del.
