Morgan State Women’s Bowling Announces Fall 2021 Recruiting Class

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 19, 2021)-The Morgan State women's bowling team, led by head coach Tom Falbo has announced the signing of two more athletes to its 2021 recruiting class. The Bears welcome Carrington Beaman and Naomi Smith, beginning in the Fall of 2021.

Coach Falbo summarizes his impression of the Bear's new additions to the team.

"Getting to know Naomi and Carrington along with their families has been a great joy as we grow our team this coming fall semester," said Falbo. "Both come from bowling families, so each has bowling in their DNA. The fact they worked so well and successfully on the same high school team is a plus coming into a collegiate team environment."

"Our current chemistry is our strength and both will be a perfect fit for our team, bringing positive energy and great scoring ability. We are excited to welcome them to our team and Morgan State University!"

Carrington Beaman
Carrington Beaman is from Detroit, Mich. and was a four-year starter for Farmington High School. As a freshman, Beaman averaged 182 and was a qualifier for the Michigan Singles State Championship. As a sophomore she continued her strong high school career averaging 190 and was named to Second-Team All-State. Beaman qualified again for the Michigan State Singles Championship as a sophomore, finishing ninth at States. As a junior, she was again part of the City Championship team, Regional Championship team for Farmington, and was named Team MVP. She continued her strong bowling finishing her junior season with a 197.6 average and was honored by being named First-Team All-State. All of this led up to her breakout senior season.

During her senior year, Beaman averaged 203.17 for 24 games. Early in the season, she threw a perfect 300 game and ended with a two-game total of 556. She had strung 18 strikes in a row in rolling her 300-256 set. Coach Falbo adds, "Carrington is a perfect fit for our program. She expects the best from herself in all things and is willing to work diligently to achieve it. Her bowling approach is athletic and butter smooth and she is able to maintain her confidence and consistent focus, which is the foundation of her high scoring ability. I'm very excited about her future at Morgan both on the lanes and in the classroom"
