Women’s Cross Country Concludes Regular Season In Historic Gettysburg

Lady Bears place 10th at Aubrey Shenk Invitational.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 16, 2021)-The Morgan State women's cross country team travelled to Gettysburg, Pa. to compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational 6K race, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday morning.
 
The Lady Bears would conclude the regular season with a 10th-place team finish, while Rachel Field placed 23rd individually, crossing the line in a time of 25:03.50.
 
Saint Francis-Pa. won the team title with 27 points, while Mackenzie Walker of Saint Francis-Pa. captured the individual title in a time of 23:38.30.
 
Susquehanna came in second with 86 points, Elizabethtown (116 points) was third, Messiah (118) finished fourth and host Gettysburg placed fifth with 135 points.
 
The Lady Bears' Jessica Lamborn (26:49.90) came in 59th, while Yasmine George (27:58.90) and Jalissa Emmens (28:05.80) finished 67th and 68th, respectively. Michelle Kamara ran a time of 28:22.10 and placed 71st.
 
Morgan State will take the week off to enjoy homecoming festivities and will return on Friday Oct. 29 for the 2021 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship in Cary, N.C.
