Men's Track & Field Sit in Fifth Place After Day 2 of MEAC Indoor Championships

LANDOVER, Md. (Feb. 28, 2020) - Morgan State freshman Almighty Williamson advanced to Saturday's 60 meter hurdles finals after racing to a fourth place finish with a time of 8.20 during Day 2 at the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships.

Duane Kizer came up just shy of moving on to Saturday's 60 meter hurdles finals after finishing in ninth place with a time of 8.41.

In the field events, junior Kobe-Jordan Rhooms recorded a fourth place finish in the men's high jump by clearing 2.05 meters (6'8.75"), while junior Daenah Pressley placed seventh with a mark of 2.01 meters (6'7").

Senior Kurt Goodlitt earned a trip to the medal stand by capturing a third place finish in the weight throw by recording a career-best toss of 17.09 meters.

The Morgan State men's team sits in fifth place with 18 points after the second day of competition.

Bethune-Cookman sits atop both the men's team standings after day two of the 2020 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.

The Wildcats lead the men's standings with 58.5 points after six events scored. Norfolk State is second with 52 points, followed by three-time defending champion North Carolina A&T State (48), Maryland Eastern Shore (21) and Morgan State (18).

Saturday's action will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault. The first running event will be the women's mile at 12:30 p.m.
