BALTIMORE, Md. (February 10, 2020) -- Morgan State University men's track and field program has signed nationally ranked John Purvis from Winslow Township High school in New Jersey to a National Letter of Intent.
Purvis is currently ranked #1 in the state of New Jersey and is ranked US #9 in the shot put after recording a season best toss of 60-0 (Dec. 28) at the SJTCA Winter Meet #2 held in Toms River, N.J.
"This young man will make an immediate impact on our program and in the conference as a whole," said MSU head coach
Neville Hodge, Sr.
"We are extremely excited to have Mr. Purvis as part of our family in the fall of 2020," added Hodge. "John is a welcome addition to our program and will bring a champion mentality to the team."
Purvis was also recruited by Rutgers University, Monmouth University, West Point University and Villanova University.
