BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 22, 2019)-The Morgan State women's cross country team returned to the race course after a week hiatus to run in the Maryland Eastern Shore Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at the Hawks XC Pavilion in Princess Anne, Md.

The Lady Bears finished the 5k race in fifth place with 122 points and an average time of 22:33. Navy captured the team title with 25 points, while host Maryland Eastern Shore finished second with 57 points. Howard scored 92 points to place third and Hampton finished in fourth with 101 points.

Aurelia Jepkorir of Maryland Eastern Shore won the individual title, crossing the line in a time of 18:28.4.

Morgan State was led by
Rachel Field, who finished the course in a time of 21:02.3 to place 21st.
Jalissa Emmens (21:51.2) finished 31st,
Michelle Kamara (22:37.3) placed 33rd, followed by Diamond Moore, who ran a time of 22:49.1 to come in 35th.

The Lady Bears are back in action in two weeks, when they travel to Cary, N.C. to compete in the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge.
