PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Sept. 21, 2019) -- The Morgan State men's cross country team competed at the Eastern Shore XC Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The Bears had two runners finish in the top 20 at The Hawks XC Pavilion.

Morgan State finished the course in fourth place by earning 110 points and averaged a combined time of 30:18.60. Navy finished in first place with 17 points, followed by Howard in second place with 91 points and host Eastern Shore came in third with 97 total points.

Navy's Walter Schultz (26:33.00), John Bowers (26:41.80), Brandon Sherrill (26:53.10) and Jack Mariano (27:21.20) finished the 8k race in first, second, third and fifth place respectively, while Eastern Shore's Edwin Kipruto (26:55.70) placed fourth to round out the top five.

Morgan State freshmen Keegen Gould and Justin Alston were the first Bears to cross the finish line earning 16^th(28:35.30) and 17^thplace (28:36.00) finishes.

Freshmen Rashaan Allen Jr. (31:05.50) earned 31^stplace and James Minor (31:09.40) finished in 32^ndplace, followed by Justin Coelho (32:06.70) who placed 35^th.

NEXT UP: The Bears will compete in Cary, North Carolina at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 5.
