WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 1, 2019)-The Morgan State women's cross country team opened up the 2019 season on the road on Saturday, as the Lady Bears competed in the second annual Howard University Labor Day Classic at Kenilworth Park in Washington, D.C.

Led by junior
Infinnatie Rowe (20:52.48) and sophomore
Rachel Field (21:11.21), who finished the 5k race in fourth and fifth, respectively, the Lady Bears placed third as a team. Freshman
Jalissa Emmens also finished in the top 15, running a time of 22:37.98 to place 14th.

Catholic won the team title with 32 points, placing four runners in the top 10, including two in the top three. Host Howard placed second with 50 points and had the individual title winner in Melanie White, who finished the race in a time of 20:28.61.

Morgan State returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 7 when they travel to Smyrna, Del. to take part in the DSU Hornet Invitational, hosted by Delaware State University.
