MSU Track & Field Complete Day 2 Action at East Preliminary Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 24, 2019) – Morgan State track & field concluded its postseason action on Friday evening at the NCAA East Preliminary Round at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. 
 
During the second day of events, sophomore sprinter Keon Rantin and freshman Brandon James completed their 2019 season by competing in the 200-meter dash. 
 
Rantin finished 7th in heat number 4 and recorded a time of 21.17. LSU's Jaron Flournoy advanced with a time of 20.18, the fastest time of the First Round. 
 
Rantin's top time this season was 20.87 at the Morgan State Legacy Track & Field Meet. 
 
Freshman teammate Brandon James finished eighth in his heat with a time of 21.48. His top time of the season was a 20.73 that he set at the Morgan State Legacy Track & Field Meet.
 
The NCAA East Preliminary Round competition concludes on Saturday evening, with action in the field and on the track. 

Qualifying teams and individuals advance to the 2019 NCAA Division Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, from June 5-8.
