JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 17, 2019) – Morgan State sophomore Keon Rantin and freshman Brandon James have earned bids into 2019 NCAA Division I Track and Field East Preliminary Round to be held May 23-25 on the campus of the University of North Florida at Hodges Stadium.

Qualifying teams and individuals advance to the 2019 NCAA Division Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, from June 5-8.

Rantin earned a spot in the 200-meter race after qualifying 33rd in the NCAA East Region. The 200-meter race will be run Friday night at 7:55 p.m. Rantin's top time this season was 20.73 at the Morgan State Legacy Track & Field Meet. 
 
James is the No. 33rd qualifier in the NCAA East Region in the 200-meter race. He set his top time this season of 20.73 in the Morgan State Legacy Track & Field Meet. North Carolina A&T's Rodney Rowe is the top qualifier with a time of 20.12.
 
Rantin also qualified for the 400-meter race ranked 51st in the East Region. The 400-meter race will be run Friday at 5:45 p.m. His top time this season was a 46.78 at the MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. North Carolina A&T's Trevor Stewart is the top qualifier with a time of 44.38.
