TOWSON, Md. (April 6, 2019) -- The Bears posted strong showings at the Towson Invitational inside Unitas Stadium Saturday, taking home two event victories and nine top-5 performances. The Morgan State men's track & field team finished third out of 19 teams as the Bears tallied 73 points. Johns Hopkins won the meet with 96 points.

Morgan State freshman
Brandon James was spectacular as he captured first place in the 200 meter dash posting a personal best time of 21.19. He also finished as runner-up in the 100 meter dash by crossing the tape in a personal best time of 10.57, followed by teammate
Jordan Cofield who finished third with a season best time of 10.61.
Keon Rantin placed second in the 400 meter dash with a season best time of 47.91, while Cofield took fourth and clocked in a season best time of 48.29.
Nahshon Robinson ran a 1:57.57 to bag 10th in the 800 meter run.
The men's 4x400 meter relay comprised of
Shindell Henry,
Kevin Leach,
Caniggia Harriott and
Ra'Mel Manley took home second place with a time of 3:20.92.
Daenah Pressley led the way for the Bears in the men's high jump by winning the event with a personal best clearance of 2.06 meters. The Bears picked up second place in the shot put when
Kurt Goodlitt recorded a mark of 15.36 meters, in addition to a ninth place finish in the discus throw with a toss of 42.24 meters.
Vikarie Elliott had a top-10 throw in the hammer throw as he placed seventh with a toss of 44.98 meters.
Daenah Pressley had posted leap a 13.53 meters to finish third in the triple jump.
