BALTIMORE, Md. (April 21, 2019)-The 15^th annual Morgan State Legacy Meet returned to the Hughes Stadium after a year hiatus, and the Lady Bears' track and field team concluded Saturday's competition as the 2019 champions.
 
It was Morgan State's first Legacy Meet win since 2014. In all, eight Lady Bears, including two relay teams would reach ECAC qualifying times.
 
The Lady Bears finished the meet with 143 points and had 27 top 10 finishes, including three individual champions and a championship relay team. Reigning two-time defending champion Towson, which captured the 2016 and 2017 titles, finished second with 125 points, while Delaware (107) placed third. Howard (88) and Coppin State (52) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the top five.
 
Kimani Davis captured gold in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:01.23 to set a personal-best, finishing under the ECAC qualifying time of 1:03.04. Daijah Davis-Hines also ran under the ECAC qualifying time and set a personal-best as well, as she took fourth in a time of 1:01.67.
 
Valencia McDowell won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:12.25, while Infinnatie Rowe finished in second, crossing the line in a time of 2:13.32.
 
The Lady Bears' 4X400 meter relay team of Kimani Davis, Dinedye Denis, Valencia McDowell and Annastacia Barham captured gold, while running an ECAC qualifying time of 3:42.50.
 
The 4X100 meter relay squad of Kevena Jones, Alantra Mines, Dinedye Denis and Annastacia Barham also recorded an ECAC qualifying time, finishing second in a time of 46.03. Morgan State's B team of Destiny Thompson, Naomi Brown, Jon Glass and Daijah Davis-Hines crossed the line in fifth in a time of 48.69 seconds.
 
Other top performances on the track included Annastacia Barham, who finished third in the 400 meter dash, finishing with an ECAC qualifying time of 54.38. Rachel Field placed third in the 5000 meter run with a finishing time of 20:07.91.
 
Naomi Brown ran a time of 12.05 seconds to come in sixth in the 100 meter dash. Nofisat Adeyemi was sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 14.54 seconds, while Diamond Moore finished in eight in 15.17 seconds.
 
Infinnatie Rowe was sixth in the 1500 meter run, crossing the line in a time of 4:50.85.
 
Destiny Thompson placed ran a time of 25.42 to finish seventh in the 200 meter dash, while Naomi Brown came in ninth in a time of 25.63.
 
Miazziah Rose led the field events team with her first-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5-04.25. Diamond Moore finished third at a height of 5-02.25.
 
In the triple jump, Alantra Mines had an ECAC qualifying mark of 40-00.50, which was a personal-best to come in second, while Ayanna Henry finished sixth with a jump of 38-04.25.
 
Rachel Field placed fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 110-05.00. Eve D'Antignac finished in eighth at 76-05.00. D'Antignac also had a personal record in the discus, placing ninth with a mark of 124-03.
 
Jaida West finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 40-02.25, while Diamond Moore (17-10.75) and Ayanna Henry (16-09.25) finished eighth and ninth, respectively, in the long jump.
 
The Lady Bears will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take part in the historic Penn Relays (April 25-27) at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
