STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.–– The Morgan State men's track & field team competed Saturday evening at the Villanova Invitational, which returned to Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex for the fourth straight year.

Sophomore Jordan Cofield made his collegiate track debut by recording a 6.90 in the preliminary heats of the 60 meters. He placed seventh in the finals with a time of 6.92. Sophomore Keon Rantin won his heat with a time of 6.86, just .1 seconds off of his personal best time (6.85) he recorded at the 2017 Yale Season Opener.

The 4x400 meter relay team comprised of Shindell Henry, Adewunmi Oloyede, Caniggia Harriott and Ra'Mel Manley posted a time of 3:28.45.

In other events from the day, freshman Lamar Davis tallied a mark of 6.77 meters to finish sixth in the long jump. Junior thrower Kurt Goodlitt came in sixth place in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw. He threw for a distance of 14.87 meters in the shot put and tallied a personal best distance of 14.91 meters in the weight throw. Junior Vikarie Elliott recorded a distance of 14.92 meters to place eighth in the shot put, and finished 11^thin the weight throw with a toss of 12.47 meters.

Next up for the Bears will be the BU Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The event will be streamed by FloTrack.
