LANDOVER, Md. (Feb. 22, 2019) - Morgan State sophomore Keon Rantin turned in a fifth place finish in the 400 meter preliminaries during Day 2 at the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships.
 
Rantin advanced to Saturday's 400 meter final after recording a time of 48.67. He also advanced to the 200 meter finals after clocking in a time of 21.67 in Thursday's semifinals.

In the field events, sophomore Kobe-Jordan Rhooms recorded a fifth place finish in the men's high jump by clearing 2.04 meters, while junior Kurt Goodlitt placed seventh in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 15.28 meters.

The Morgan State men's team sits in sixth place with 9 points after the second day of competition.

Saturday's events will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault. Running events begin at 12:30 p.m. with the women's mile. FloSports will broadcast the championship meet live beginning at 12:15 p.m. EST.
 
At 9 a.m., the MEAC and Howard University will hold the 5K Run/Walk to Cure Sickle Cell, featuring Howard president Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick. Register to take part here and donate to the Howard University Hospital Center for Sickle Cell Disease here.
