Day 2 Results
Towson, Md. (Feb. 16, 2019)-The Morgan State women's bowling team went 1-4 on Saturday at the James Brown Invitational (JBI) at the AMF Lanes. The Lady Bears sit in ninth place with a 3-7 overall record and a total pinfall of 8,958 pins.
Maryland Eastern Shore continues lead after two days of competition with 9,863 pins. Delaware State is in second with 9,646 pins and Duquesne sits in third with 9,514 total pins. Fairleigh Dickinson (9,237) and Caldwell (9,214) are fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the top five.
The Lady Bears' traditional style matches began with four straight losses to Howard (852-934), Fairleigh Dickinson (874-936), Mount St. Mary's (877-948) and Maryland Eastern Shore (826-944). MSU bounced back with a victory over Chestnut Hill by a score of 931-807 to end Saturday's match play.
Morgan State had two stand-out performances from their seniors on what has become known as "Senior Recognition Day" of the JBI. Senior Devin Hill-Bartlet bowled a 246 in the fourth game of the day followed by senior
Kiersten Bateman's 257 in the fifth game.
The Lady Bears will open the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday with a match against Mount St. Mary's.
