Men's Track & Field Completes Successful Weekend at BU Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. -- Jordan Cofield placed third in the 60 meter dash to lead the Morgan State Bears who notched six top-10 finishes at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational held at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

Cofield, who is also member of the Bears football team, posted a time of 6.92 in the 60m to lead a successful weekend for the Bears. The Owings Mill (Md.) product ran a 6.90 during his collegiate debut last weekend at the Villanova Invitational.

Keon Rantin also came out the gates strong for the Bears as he crossed the tape with a time of 21.26 in the 200 meter dash -- just .02 off his fastest indoor time. Cofield ran 21.92 in just his first 200m race of the season.

In the 4x400m dash on Saturday, the quartet of Brandon James, Keon Rantin, Shindell Henry, and Adewunmi Oloyede raced to a fourth place finish by turning in a season-best time time of 3:15.48.

In the field events, Kobe-Jordan Rhooms cleared 6.81m (22'4.25") to place eighth in the long jump, and followed it up with a 10th place leap in the triple jump by recording a 14.31m (46'11.5").

Vikarie Elliott posted a throw of 15.39m (50'6") on his third attempt to seal ninth place in the event. He was followed by Kurt Goodlitt, who finished 11th with a personal best mark of 15.05m (49'4.5"). Goodlitt also finished 15th in the weight throw with a heave of 15.02 (49'3.5").
