CARY, N.C. (Oct. 5, 2019)-The Morgan State women's cross country team had a strong outing at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge, held at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday morning. The Lady Bears finished third out of eleven teams, totaling 82 points with an average time of 1:43.19.

Fayetteville State took home the HBCU title, finishing the 5K race with 62 points, while the University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished in second with 68 points. North Carolina A&T's G'Jasmyne Butler captured the individual title in a time of 18:55.2.

Morgan State's
Infinnatie Rowe led the Lady Bears with her fourth-place finish in a time of 19:12.5 and
Rachel Field placed eighth 20:04.8.
Jalissa Emmens also finished in the top 20, placing 13th in a time of 20:18.3.

Valencia McDowell ran a time of 21:41.0 to place 29th, while
Michelle Kamara (22:02.7) finished 36th and Diamond Moore placed 55th with a time of 24:32.2.

The Lady Bears will travel to Smyrna, Del. on Friday, Oct. 11 to compete in the Delaware State Alumni Run.
