SMYRNA, Del. (Oct. 11, 2019)-The Morgan State women's cross country team concluded the regular season with a great outing at Delaware State's Alumni XC Invite, held at the Delaware Outreach & Research Center on Friday afternoon. The Lady Bears finished the meet in first place, totaling 48 points with a total time of 1:46:06.
Howard finished with 49 points and a time of 1:47.01 to claim second place, while Maryland Eastern Shore scored 53 points and had a total time of 1:47.14 to finish in third.
Morgan State's Infinnatie Rowe led the Lady Bears with her third place finish of 20:07.5, followed by a fifth place finish from Jalissa Emmens (20:13.3) and a sixth place finish from Rachel Field (20:32.8) to round out the top ten.
Michelle Kamara finished 13th with a time of 21:55.2, Diamond Moore ran a time of 23:17.2 to finish 22nd, Anaya Moore placed 32nd with a time 25:55.6 and Destiny Thompson rounded out the group with a time of 28:00.5 to place 35th for Morgan State.
Coppin State senior Tatiana Ogundeko took home the individual title in the 5k race, placing first with a time of 19:18.2. Howard sophomore Melanie White placed in second, crossing the line with a time of 19:43.9.
The Lady Bears will be off until Saturday, Oct. 26, when they travel back to Smyrna, Del. to compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship.
