TOWSON, Md. (April 15, 2017)-The Morgan State women's track and field team sent part of its team to nearby Towson University for the annual Towson Invitational held at Johnny Unitas® Stadium. The Lady Bears, who produced seven top-10 finishes, placed 10th with a total of 22 points.
 
The host Tigers set four school records to win the meet with 214 points. Delaware followed in second with 187.50 points, while Wheaton (Mass.) placed third in the 16-team field with 41.50 points.
 
Morgan State's field unit had a successful day with Rochelle Johnson leading the way with her third-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 18-01.50. Bria Hill finished sixth in the triple jump, following her leap of 36-08.25.
 
Jasmyn Hall recorded two top-10 marks in the both the shot put and the discus throw. Hall would come in sixth in the shot put with a toss of 43-04.25, while placing eighth in the discus throw with a distance of 116-06.
 
On the track Ashley Souffrant took fifth in the 800 meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 2:18.54. Aiyana Ware had a season-best time of 1:05.97 to finish ninth in the 400 meter hurdles.
 
The Lady Bears' 4X400 meter relay team of Olivia Jamison, Aiyana Ware, Kayla Durham and Lena Fowler ran a time of 3:56.65 to finish fourth.
