LAUREL, Md. (Jan. 16, 2015)-The Morgan State women's bowling team returned to action for the first time in 2015 on Friday, as they competed in the annual Frederick and Edwina Underwood Bowling Classic at the AMF Laurel Lanes, hosted by Bowie State.

The Lady Bears, who haven't bowled since the second MEAC Northern Division competition (Dec. 6-7), concluded the opening day going 1-3 overall with a total of 3,987 pins and currently sit in sixth-place out of the nine-team field.

Morgan State (17-17, 12-8 MEAC) began the day with a loss to Howard (826-866), followed by a loss to unbeaten tournament leader, Fairleigh Dickinson (787-1078), before defeating Virginia Union (768-765). The Lady Bears ended the day with a loss to Virginia State, 756-753.

The Lady Bears will conclude the Frederick and Edwina Underwood Classic on Saturday, Jan. 17.
