BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 28, 2014)-The Lady Bears' bowling team began the 2014-15 season competing in the Hampton Roads Invitational hosted by Norfolk State over the weekend at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va.
Morgan State would finish the tournament going 4-6 and placed fourth overall. Junior Briana Evans would record 934 total pins for an average of 186.80 to place third and earn all-tournament team honors.
The Lady Bears concluded Saturday going 2-3 in the Traditional Team games on the opening day. Morgan State defeated Chowan (785-617) and Howard (844-743), before dropping its next three to Bowie State (733-812), host Norfolk State (771-810) and Elizabeth City State (807-810).
In Sunday's Baker games, best-of-seven the Lady Bears also went 2-3. Morgan State defeated Howard (4 games to 3) and Elizabeth City State (4-3). The Lady Bears lost to Norfolk State (3-4), Chowan (1-4) and Bowie State (2-4).
Morgan State will be off until Nov. 8-9, when they take part in the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Northern Division match of the season. The event, hosted by Howard, will be held at the Naval Bowling Center in Bethesda, Md.
