BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 23, 2014)-The Morgan State bowling team will begin the 2014-15 season this weekend under third-year head coach
Wendell Burke, when the Lady Bears compete in the Hampton Roads Invitational, hosted by Norfolk State. The event will take place at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va.
Schools expected to compete this weekend include host Norfolk State, Howard, Elizabeth City State, North Carolina Central, Hampton, Felician College, Bowie State, Pitt-Bradford and Chowan.
Teams will begin practice at 10 a.m. on Saturday with play officially set to begin at 10:25 a.m. On Sunday, practice is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m. with an official start time just before 9 a.m. The teams will compete in team games on Saturday and Baker play on Sunday.
Last season the Lady Bears finished 58-49 overall and earned the third seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division with a 20-10 mark. Morgan State would be eliminated from the MEAC championship on the second day of competition.
