Morgan State Cross Country Set for UMES Soaring Hawks Invitational

BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 18, 2026) -- The Morgan State men's and women's cross country teams will return to action Saturday, Sept. 19, when they travel to Princess Anne, Md., to compete in the UMES Soaring Hawks Invitational.

The Bears are coming off strong performances at the Delaware State Sting Invitational, where both squads finished among the top three teams.

On the women's side, the Lady Bears placed second with 63 points, trailing host Delaware State, which won the team competition with 16 points.

Senior Crystal Coke paced Morgan State individually, placing fifth overall with a time of 21:13.5 and an average pace of 6:49.9 per mile.

Freshman Rhian Jeffries and sophomore Kennedi Green followed closely behind, finishing 11th (22:12.2) and 12th (22:24.8), respectively.

The Morgan State men's team placed third with 85 points, finishing behind host Delaware State, which captured the team title with 22 points.

Sophomore Natnael Gebremariam led the Bears with a top-10 performance, finishing eighth overall in the 6K with a time of 16:14.1, averaging 5:13.5 per mile. Gebremariam continues to make a strong impression early in his sophomore campaign.

Sophomore Miguel Graham also turned in a strong performance, placing 14th with a time of 17:29.1.

The Bears will look to build on last week's performances and continue their progress when they compete in the UMES Soaring Hawks Invitational on Saturday.
