BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 10, 2026) -- On Friday, September 11, 2026, the Morgan State cross country teams will head to Smyrna, Delaware, to compete in the Delaware State Invitational.

At the Delaware Invitational, the Morgan State men's team turned in a fifth place performance with 118 points. Delaware State won the team competition with 20 points, followed by Wilmington (76), Coppin State (86), and Morgan State (118).

Sophomore Natnael Gebremariam led the Bears with an impressive performance at White Clay Creek State Park. Skinner clocked 21:03.0 on the 6K course, securing a sixth-place finish.

On the women's side, the Lady Bears opened the season, also placing fifth in the team results. Maryland won the team competition with 22 points, followed by host Delaware (35), Delaware TC (114) and Wilmington (126).

Crystal Coke led the Bears with a 37th-place finish, completing the 5K course in 22:36.0. Freshman Rhian Jeffries was the next Morgan runner across the finish line, placing 43rd in 23:08.4.

The Bears will aim to carry their momentum into this Friday's Delaware State Sting Invitational.
