BALTIMORE, Md. (April 8, 2026)--The Morgan State University acrobatics & tumbling team will head to the Show Me State to face the Missouri State University Bears in the second annual "Battle of the Bears" on Thursday, April 9 at Hammonds Student Center in Springfield, Mo.
 
The Morgan State Lady Bears are looking to bounce back after falling short in their home finale loss to No. 3 Quinnipiac University with a final score of 267.870-236.560 last Friday on Senior Night. The loss ended Morgan State's season-long and school-record four-match winning streak.
 
Last week the Lady Bears (4-3) started strong with an incredible performance, showcasing sharp precision and exceptional routines. Their energy and focus were evident early during the meet, as they showed remarkable control and strong technique across their performances, but ultimately fell short in the first Compulsory event, the Acro heat. Morgan State posted a score of 7.750, falling just behind Quinnipiac's 9.300.
 
Meanwhile, Missouri State (3-4) faced No 6. Augustana on the road, falling 270.205-250.105. The Bears finishing score of 250.105, topped the previous program-best mark set earlier this season, giving the team its first 250-plus score of the year. Missouri State stayed within striking distance through the opening half, trailing 93.20-96.35 at the break.
 
Both teams are looking to close out the season on a high note. The two MSU programs are set to hit the mat at 7 p.m. ET.
 
Last season it was the Morgan State Lady Bears capturing the inaugural meeting, defeating Missouri State, 238.440-208.540 in the season finale in Baltimore.
