BALTIMORE, Md. (March 8, 2026)--The Morgan State acrobatics & tumbling team showcased incredible precision and steadiness on Sunday afternoon, as it took on Francis Marion and earned a 243.950-213.550 victory at Hill Field House. The win extended the Lady Bears' winning streak to two straight and allowed first-year Morgan State head coach Agina Simpkins to receive her first home victory.
Â
Morgan State improved to 2-2 on the season, while the Patriots dropped to 0-4. The two-meet winning streak is one shy of matching a program-best three consecutive wins set last season when the Lady Bears won their last three contests to conclude the 2025 campaign.
Â
The Lady Bears opened the match-up with strong momentum and high intensity by defeating the Patriots in the first compulsory heat with a total score of 35.700-29.800. The ladies exemplified impressive balance and remarkable focus throughout the entire heat, ultimately setting the tone early.
Â
Throughout the entire competition the Lady Bears executed significant skill, precision, and consistency in every heat of the meet. A highlighted performance came during Heat 5 of the six-element from junior utility
Niani Anderson, achieving a total score of 9.350, and Heat 6 of the open element tumbling pass from junior base/tumbler
Kayla Bryant with a score of 9.325. Both ladies received high scores and showcased amazing standout performances.
Â
"I think the team performed well as a group. Most of our skills hit today," said Simpkins. "We had a couple of things that didn't go our way because of an injury, but overall, the team did a really good job."
Â
For another intense and competitive match-up, the Morgan State acrobatics & tumbling team will take on Caldwell University on March 18, 2026, at 7 p.m. in Caldwell, New Jersey.
