BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 27, 2025)--Morgan State will travel to the Nation's Capital on Sunday, Sept. 28 for its first league road test of the season when it takes on the Howard Bison in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match. First serve is at 1 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C. and will broadcast live on ESPN+.

Morgan State will look to put an end to its current losing skid against its beltway rival, which leads the all-time series, 48-41. Howard has won 11 straight over the Bears, with 10 of those contests coming by way of a sweep, including the last four meetings. The Bears' last victory over Howard was a 3-1 win at Howard (3/18/21). The match was played during the Spring semester due to Covid-19.

The Bears (4-7, 1-0 MEAC) enter Sunday's match coming off a 3-1 victory at home on Friday evening over Norfolk State in the MEAC season opener at Hill Field House. The win ended a season-long five-match losing skid.

Senior Daniella Ferreira led the Bears with a match-high 17 kills, while
Hanna Nemeth and
Jada Williams added 11 and 10, respectively.
Mikaela Esparza had 10 digs and Isabella Brown finished with a match-high 26 assists.

Howard (6-5, 0-1 MEAC), in the midst of a two-match losing streak, was dealt a 3-2 loss at home to visiting Coppin State in the MEAC opener for both teams.

Rya McKinnon led the Bison with a team-high 20 kills and had 13 digs to record a double-double. Alexys James totaled 13 kills and nine digs, while Kaitlynn Robinson hit .909 with 10 kills. Aziah Buckner had a team-leading 14 digs and Claire Simpson tallied 13. Leah Reeves recorded a match-best 28 assists.

The Bison held a 20-10 advantage over Coppin in blocks. Robinson led the way with a match-high 11 blocks, including two solos.
