Hailing from Jersey City, New Jersey, Elijah Williams carved out a name for himself as one of the most dominant defensive forces to ever wear a Morgan State uniform. Known for his explosive play and signature number, the nickname "Agent Zero" became synonymous with big-time moments and relentless effort. From the moment he stepped on campus, Elijah's hunger to improve and lead set the tone for what would become a historic college football career.
During his time at Morgan State, Elijah cemented his legacy by recording 31 career sacks—the most in the program's storied history. That milestone not only highlights his relentless pursuit of the quarterback but also his consistency, discipline, and leadership on the field. His efforts earned him numerous accolades, including MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-MEAC honors, firmly establishing him as a game-changer in every sense of the word.
Off the field, he was just as focused. Balancing the demands of football and academics, Elijah proudly earned his degree in Marketing, proving that his ambition extended well beyond the gridiron. With his college chapter now complete, "Agent Zero" continues to chase excellence as he prepares for the next level—motivated by faith, family, and the foundation he built at Morgan State.
Before College
When did you first start playing football, and what inspired you?
I started playing football when I was 7 years old. It was something everyone around me was doing, so naturally, I wanted to be a part of it too. It quickly became a passion.
What was your high school football experience like?
At first, I wasn't the best on the field. But by my sophomore year, the team needed a center, and I stepped up. As I continued to improve, I became a two-way player, contributing on both sides of the ball.
Were there any coaches, teammates, or family members who played a major role in your early development?
All of my coaches played a big role. They were tough on me, but that discipline helped shape the player—and person—I am today.
What challenges did you face growing up, and how did football help you navigate them?
Starting off, I struggled. I wasn't the best, and it got to me. But my pops pulled me aside one day and told me, "Come on, man. We got this." That moment helped me push through and keep going.
How did you handle the recruiting process? What made you choose Morgan State?
The recruiting process was stressful, no doubt. But when Morgan State offered me a half scholarship and told me all I had to do was be the best student-athlete I could be, I took it. Eventually, I earned a full scholarship. It felt like everything aligned perfectly.
College Journey
What was the biggest adjustment going from high school to college football?
The speed. Everyone was faster, stronger, and more disciplined. My freshman year, I had to work hard just to keep up, especially with my speed.
How did you balance academics, athletics, and your social life in college?
At first, I struggled. I was procrastinating a lot, but I learned quickly that college won't let you slide. After practices and treatment, I made sure to focus on my academics, especially since our days usually ended by noon.
What did Morgan State's football program teach you about discipline, leadership, and growth?
I learned that leadership isn't just about being vocal. It's about leading by example. If I'm not giving 100%, how can I expect my teammates to? We feed off each other's energy.
Career Highlights & Legacy
What did it mean to you to win MEAC Defensive Player of the Year?
It was a blessing. To be recognized for the work I've put in—it's a feeling I can't even put into words. It showed me that all the grind was worth it.
You recorded 31 sacks in your college career, breaking the all-time record in Morgan State history—what does that accomplishment mean to you?
It means everything. As a defensive lineman, a sack is our version of a touchdown. To hold that record, I'm beyond grateful.
How did it feel to be named First Team All-MEAC, and how does that reflect the work you've put in?
It's a huge honor. I always want to be the player that coaches circle on the scouting report and say, "We gotta watch out for him." That recognition lets me know I'm doing something right.
What do you want your legacy to be at Morgan State?
I want to be remembered as someone who gave it everything—on and off the field. A leader, a competitor, and someone who represented Morgan State with pride and heart.
NFL Training
What was your training routine like leading up to the NFL Draft or tryouts?
I stayed here at Morgan State, using our coaches, staff, and facilities every day to improve. I locked in and made sure I was getting better each day.
Can you describe your experience at a Pro Day or NFL Combine?
Man, I loved every minute of it. From the vertical jump to the 40-yard dash, I felt like the fastest man alive. It was surreal.
What was it like meeting with scouts, coaches, or teams during the process?
I was invited to the HBCU Legacy Bowl, which gave me the chance to speak with scouts from all 32 NFL teams. It was an amazing experience—one I'll never forget.
Personal Motivation
What keeps you motivated during tough moments or when things aren't going your way?
God. Through everything—highs and lows—He keeps me grounded and motivated.
Do you have any rituals or routines that help you stay focused before a game?
I'm quiet before games. No hype, no distractions. When that coin toss happens, I look each opponent in the eye—then I'm locked in.
Who or what inspires you the most—both as an athlete and a person?
My pops. He's been there every step of the way, hands-on, always pushing me to be my best. His support means the world.
How do you define success for yourself?
Success, for me, is about reaching my full potential—not just in football, but in life. I want to be the best player I can be, and more importantly, the best man I can be for my family.
