BALTIMORE, Md. (April 2, 2025) -- Riding high on the wave of their first-ever program victory against Francis Marion University, the Morgan State Acrobatics & Tumbling team is ready to continue the season. The hard-fought win has injected a new level of confidence and determination into the squad as they prepare for their next challenge: a face-off against Stevenson University on Friday, April 4, 2024, at 6 p.m.
The upcoming contest against Stevenson will mark a rematch. Back on March 9, 2024, the Bears and the Mustangs clashed, resulting in a decisive victory for Morgan. The final score, a lopsided 225.025-195.855.
One of the standout moments from the Bears' last meet was their dominance in Acro Heat 3, where they set a season-high score of 9.400. As they inch closer to the season's end, the team is determined to build on that success and finish strong.
Meanwhile, Stevenson (2-5) is also looking to close out its season on a high note. The Mustangs recently picked up a win against Buffalo State and will be eager to avenge their earlier loss to Morgan.
The Mustangs are led by head coach Megan Despres, the second-ever coach in program history. Interestingly, Despres was also a member of Stevenson's inaugural team in 2022 and 2023, giving her a unique perspective as both a former athlete and current leader.
With both teams hungry for a strong finish, Friday night's meet promises to be an exciting showdown. The Bears will look to extend their winning streak, while the Mustangs aim to defend their home turf. Fans can expect an intense competition as both teams push for a statement victory late in the season.
