BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 27, 2025) -- The Morgan State Acrobatics & Tumbling team is set to compete in their first home meet of the 2025 season as they face Long Island University on Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at Hill Field House.
This matchup marks a chance for redemption for the Bears, who fell to the Lady Sharks last season in a hard-fought battle, 220.550 - 240.535. After a tough loss last weekend, Morgan State is eager to regroup, defend its home turf, and secure its first win of the year.
"We actually have to regroup," said Morgan State head coach Regina Smith. "With the injury to Rayla Buckner and not having one of our starters for next week, we're going to have to go back to the table, strategize, and really refocus as a team."
The LIU Sharks, led by head coach Shelby Armstrong, have been competing in Acrobatics & Tumbling since 2023. This season, they are still searching for their first win, currently holding an 0-3 record. Most recently, they suffered a 257.600 - 20.170 loss to Quinnipiac University on February 24.
With both teams hungry for victory, Saturday's matchup promises to be an intense showdown. The Bears will look to capitalize on their home advantage and make a statement as they continue their season. Fans won't want to miss the action.Â
