BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 20, 2025)--Morgan State freshman setter
Isabelle Brown was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Setter of the Week, while fellow freshman libero
Tameary Wardlaw was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
This is the second weekly honor for Brown, who also received the honor on Sept. 2, 2025, and the first for Wardlaw.
Delaware State's Gerrin Tomlin was named MEAC Player of the Week and Coppin State's Cherisse Atilano was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.
A native of Avon, Ind., Brown averaged 8.1 assists per set for the week, totaling 57 assists, 17 digs, four kills, three blocks and three service aces to help Morgan to a 1-1 week. Brown began the week posting 28 assists, eight digs, three kills and an ace in the loss to Coppin State. She concluded the week falling short of a double-double, recording 29 assists and nine digs with two blocks and a kill in a three-set win on the road against defending champion Delaware State.
Wardlaw finished the week averaging 4.3 digs per set, totaling 30 digs, nine assists, and a service ace in two matches. The Sunrise, Fla. native finished with a match- and season-high 18 digs and totaled five assists in a four-set loss to Coppin State. Wardlaw then totaled 12 digs, four assists and had an ace in a three-set sweep of Delaware State on Sunday to end a 12-match losing skid to the Hornets.
Morgan State (8-9, 5-2 MEAC) returns to the court this Friday, Oct. 24, when it travels to Norfolk, Va., to take on the Norfolk State Spartans (1-19, 0-7 MEAC). First serve is at 6 p.m. at Gill Gymnasium.
