BALTIMORE, Md. (March 29, 2024) -- The highly anticipated Morgan State versus Hampton football game, initially slated for the Prudential Brick City HBCU Kickoff Classic on August 31 in Harrison, New Jersey, has undergone a venue change.
The two teams will now kickoff the 2024 campaign on August 31 when the Pirates host longtime rival Morgan State at 6 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium in Hampton, Virginia,
While the venue may have changed, the excitement surrounding this matchup remains unwavering. Morgan State and Hampton boast rich and storied football programs that have left an enduring mark on the annals of college athletics. The 2024 season opener promises to be a thrilling spectacle, as both teams aim to make a statement and set the tone for their respective campaigns.
Morgan was picked to finish fourth (4th) in the MEAC preseason head football coaches and sports information directors, but instead finished in a 2-way tie for second place with a 3-2 mark in league play. Morgan concluded the 2023 season with 4-6 record.
The team plans to hold its annual Spring Game at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 at Hughes Stadium.
