BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 19, 2024) — Morgan State University concluded its 2024 cross country regular season on a competitive note at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College this past Saturday. The Bears had a solid performance as they secured a 6th place finish with a total of 223 points, placing two runners within the top 50.
Perry Bennett emerged as the standout performer in the recent 8k race, clocking an exceptional time of 25:06.3 and securing second place overall. Meanwhile, Caleb Mincey crossed the finish line with a respectable time of 26:59.3, placing 43rd. Just behind him, Davian Gray entered the fray with a time of 26:46.6, ultimately finishing 51st and just shy of the coveted top 50.Â
Fellow teammates Rushshane Fullerton placed 97th in a time of 27:53.8 and Samuel Skinner (102nd) crossed the line in a time of 28:02.8.
GRC-Tracksmith clinched the team title at the recent championship meet, finishing with an impressive total of 30 points. Leading the charge was Keith Carlson, whose performance earned him the individual title by clocking in at an impressive 24:36.3.
Morgan is gearing up to focus on the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship, which is set to take place on Saturday, November 2, in Smyrna, Delaware.Â
